When a new comment is detected, it captures all the comment data including the author's name, email address, and the comment content itself. This data gets passed to the Discord notification step as variables like `{{wordpress.author_name}}`, `{{wordpress.author_email}}`, and `{{wordpress.content.rendered}}`.

What happens if my WordPress site has a lot of comments posted at once?

The workflow processes comments individually, so if multiple comments are posted between hourly checks, you'll receive separate Discord notifications for each one. The hourly polling prevents overwhelming your Discord channel with constant notifications.

Can I customize what information appears in the Discord message?

Yes, you can edit the message content in Step 2 to include or exclude different comment fields. You can add the post title, comment URL, or remove the author email if you prefer. The template uses WordPress comment variables that you can mix and match.

Will this capture comments that need moderation approval?

The trigger monitors published comments only. If your WordPress site requires comment moderation, the notification will only fire after you manually approve the comment and it becomes publicly visible on your site.
